Heretic opens this week on Thursday October 27 th at 14:00 GMT. These will appear across all game worlds providing a fresh challenge for players familiar with existing AI defenses. Designed to provide an intermediate level of challenge for all Kingdoms players, each AI will gain one or two new designs. In recognition of the most efficient AI slayers a new Kill Streak section will also be added to the in-game leaderboard.Īs a final addition several new AI castle designs will be introduced with the update when it goes live this Thursday. As your kill streak increases you will be rewarded with an Honour production boost, extension to your Faith Point cap and a higher chance of receiving additional wheel spins for AI kills. New village charters only spawn once an AI is defeated (via raze ). Each Parish has an AI (Rat, Snake, Pig, Wolf) as a 'steward' and is controlled by that AI until the players oust them. Players can become Heretics at Rank 7 or higher, thereby swearing allegiance to The Wolf. The allocated time until your current streak ends increases with each defeated AI, with the boost varying depending on the type of AI defeated. This world will be limited to 10 Glory Rounds. Heretic also introduces a new ‘kill streak’ feature, which stacks as you capture or destroy AI villages within a given period. Just remember that, while any player Rank 7 (Bondsman) or above can turn, once you go heretic there’s no turning back! Will you fight against The Wolf or turn Heretic and wreak havoc by attacking fellow players? After swearing their allegiance to The Wolf, a heretic player will only be able to attack non-heretic players. In Heretic players will choose between battling against The Wolf and his men or turning to the dark side, betraying fellow players by joining The Wolf’s faction. In addition to a dynamic Faith Point cap that increases with every slayed AI, Heretic introduces a new twist on the PvE gameplay found in Rise of The Wolf by giving players the freedom to choose which side they fight on. My spies tell us The Wolf has plans to recruit allies from within our own ranks and dismantle our forces from within!īased on your feedback from Rise of The Wolf we have made a range of gameplay changes and adjustments for Heretic, our second PvE AI world and the first to feature Europe. Synergies and rank-appropriate research is discussed by a veteran Stronghold Kingdoms player of four years.Launching this week, Heretic invites you to unite against The Wolf or join him! TIP: It is a good idea to avoid buying research points with gold until later in the game.īelow is a series of four videos which takes an in-depth look at the entire Stronghold Kingdoms research tree tab by tab. Players may also receive free research points from Strategy Cards. Points may also be purchased for gold from the player’s treasury however, the price of gold increases each time a point is bought. The most common method is by receiving three (3) points with each rank (including sub-ranks). Once these are depleted, there are various ways to obtain research points. When the player first begins the game, they are given eight (8) research points to spend. TIP: Hovering the mouse over queued researches will show you the name of the research and how long it will take for that research item is completed. Branch view shows all currently-available research, as well as any buildings or branches these may unlock, while tree view shows the entire research tree, including still-locked research. There are two (2) views in the research screen branch and tree view. Certain researches require a player to be of a minimum rank before they can be started, and certain branches of research open up new branches to the player once completed.Ī player may carry out one level of research at a time however, premium tokens allow up to five (5) levels of research to be queued, although only one will be researched at a time. Research takes a certain length of time – increasing with each completed research. These open up new buildings, troop types, food types, features etc. Players obtain research points to spend on researching new branches of the research tree. Research is a fundamental part of the Stronghold Kingdoms experience: all skills, buildings, features and everything that a player can accomplish in Stronghold is tied in some way to research.
